February Competition Comments
« on: March 12, 2006, 16:50:56 »
My first reaction is "Darn missed out on entering AND  the vote - yet again!". However, nice though the pictures are there werent very many of them were there? Might just be me but i get the feeling something went wrong this month. Perhaps the compettion wasnt promoted enough so not enough folks knew about it? Or maybe people didnt have the time or the photos to bother with the comp (shame)? Or it could be the new entry method isnt working?

Whatever the reason, lets all try and do a bit better next month  shall we. I'd even be tempted to suggest we have another one this month and hope for a better entry. It would be such a shame to let the A4All photo competition 'die a death'.

I think 'die a death' is a bit strong, last month (January) we had 22 entries!

I had many other commitments over the past week, so put a tight schedule on the competition, which many people missed.

I'll allow longer for entries next month, but just remember, it is at the start of every month!

Cheers

Well I for one usually enter the competition, but there was just nothing of interest to take a picture of.  February is a very dull month and despite looking for a suitable picture  i.e.  spring lamb? didn't get a good enough picture to enter.  Mind you, having said that, I didnt know until Fri.March 3rd that the closing date for entries was on the Sat. at 12 noon. Trying hard to get a pic this month but so far nothing.

Dan: no offence boss, but if you had other commitments you could have let things run a bit longer until you had the time to deal with it, say a week or maybe two for entries then a week for judging/voting. IMO rushing it through in a couple of days was not the solution and would've given people longer to get to know about the comp, and enter for it.

Carol: I personaly had 'quite a few' pictures for entry, since i went on holiday during february and took loads of pictures, many of whom could've become entries. Even if i had not gone away I usualy take some photos of the garden each month so could've found something from those. I appreciate its not the same for everybody though.

Standing by with my entry for March's competition.

Maybe, if its not too much trouble could we please  have a general email notification of when the competition opens?. Wouldnt be too much trouble would it Dan?

If you already have an entry for the March Comp, why not forward it on to Dan.
Save missing out next time.
