red baron onions

I noticed yesterday that some of my red baron onion sets that I put in about a month ago (I know mad sunny moment!) are poking through the surface. There are no shoots and the onions look just the same size as when I planted them - which isn't surprising as it's been horrid since I put them in. I felt gently to see if they were anchored and they seemed to be - should I just leave them breaking the surface or dig them up and plant them deeper?

Leave them, they just haven't had a chance to grow yet.

Can one replant very small onions from last year? :-\

Probably not, I suspect they'd just bolt. I always have problems with this in the first year; I wouldn't try growing them on into the second!
