There's a pub near us called "Fanny On The Hill" - I've always wondered how it got its name... an appreciative landlord, maybe?

we was at the coast on new yeas eve with the dogs (Bridlington way) and on the way back we saw the sign, we had to turn around and get a photo of it!!!! ;D ;D ;D ;D

My colleague at work used to live in a road in Chopwell (just a few miles from where I live) called Fannybush Lane.

I believe the council have changed the name now.  But my friend says that it caused many an hilarious conversation with taxi drivers/takeaway delivery drivers and the like.  I think when she said 'hilarious' she was being facetious.  No doubt the novelty wore off after the first hundred phone calls.   ;) ;D
