Carrots, snips and beets are all in the root family so will live happily together, but no manure as it will make them fork.

Spinach I have put in the 'other' group for rotation and as such have been bunging it where there is space, but it prefers somewhere out of the midday sun (don't we all?), so it is in with the blackcurrant bushes - new this year, so small and it seemed a shame to waste all that space.  I have grown spinach in modules as well as direct sow and have found the modules work better, planted the whole lot in the ground upto the first leaf and they're off.

I've got my carrots under fleece cloches, which I hope to replace for mesh soon.

Well, now you have somewhere to go when it rains! Great leap forward moo, lots of envy marks. Got your Kelly Kettle and a shelf for the teabags? ;D

Love these updates cowellen, you are putting some real graft into your plot. Hope you get time to sit on the new fence watching the lady carrot flies preening in the CDs lol. That isn't a wonky fence, it's Art ;) I think it looks perfect, especially when you get some beenz up it ;D

Hope you are feeling very pleased with yourself!

Yeah, inspirational pics! Great to see how it's all coming together.  (Gives me hope for my own miserable couch-choked plot!)  :)
