fleece and free!
« on: March 12, 2006, 15:02:47 »
Last week I called at a farm that have been planting their potatoes and covering it with fleece, to ask what they will do with it at the end of the season and he gave me 100mts x 6mts of last seasons and said I could have as much as I like if I come back. He even offered me some of his seed potatoes. A thank you card is on it's way as I might take him up on his offer.

Has anybody noticed that Tescos and Sainsburys won't give out the flower buckets any more, I managed to get 30 on Friday from Asda though.

hi Ani,  Well done for asking at the farm :D

My local sainsburys told me the flower buckets go back to the suppliers for re-use but I have loads now from small local shops. Someone posted that morrisons will sell them 8 for 99p.

Yup, that was me.

My local Morrisons has them batched up into eights - 6 larger & two smaller - for 99p.

My local Asda used to sell them for 10p each with the money going to local
charities.

I got some from my local market a couple of years ago- about 10p each, I think. We probably should be glad the supermarkets are re-using them, but...!
