As has been said so many times before, you either pay Dan the man for the privilege or you join for example Photobucket (easier than Imageshack in most opinions) and post from there. There are detailed instructions all over the site on how to do either of these things.

Not a stupid question at all Giraffe. Everyone has to be new somtime.
I set up a free flickr account and link the photo details by pressing the 'insert image' button and then past the location of the flickr photo between the codes in the square brackets.

It worked!
Thanks for explaining it simply John. I'd read some of the other posts on this topic before and just got confused...

Glad it made sence dandilion.
Its also quite easy to upload pictures to the wiki, if you select the wiki pages and click on the 'wiki upload' option on the lefthand side of the screen.
Once you have done this you can then paste the picture into any wiki page you want.
All the best,

We could try it in steps if you want Marge.
STEP I
Try going to the 'post a reply' screen
then click on the symbol which looks like a picture (under the Italic symbol)
this will put two lots of square brackets in your message and when you save it, the message will look like this.
This shows a space that is now ready to take a photo

STEP 2
The second step is to copy the address of a picture somewhere else on the web.
As a quick practice you could go to the BBC homepage. Put the pointer on top of any picture on the screen and click the right hand button of your mouse.
That should give you a drop down menu with the word ‘properties’ at the bottom.
Click on the word ‘properties’ and you will get a screen which contains an address starting ‘http:’ and ending ‘.gif’
Then you use the mouse to select all address text and press the right button on your mouse.
The right hand button gives you the option to copy what you have selected.

STEP 3 - though not quite to heaven :)
Post a new reply and press the 'Insert Image' button.
Then paste the address from the other website inbetween the two sets of square brackets.

You've just got to paste the address of a picture between the two sets of square brackets grawrc
Copy the address below and then paste that between the square brackets in your last but one message.

As you have donated, you can just upload a picture directly to the site from your computer.
When you post a message, click Aditional Options, and attach a picture to your post!
Cheers
