I wonder if anyone has tried sowing them in Root trainers?  ???

It's my first year with an allotment and I'm wondering whether it's worth trying or whether I shouldn't bother....

I dont think you will gain anything with leeks in root trainers, they dont mind root disturbance when transplanted.

So come on then chaps (and chapesses!), whats the better way to sow them. In pots or trays undercover (then plant out) or in a 'nursery' bed outdoors (then transplant) or even 'sow where they will grow'?

Lots of different methods given in this topic, but which one works the best?
