Veggie Seeds
« on: February 08, 2006, 13:57:01 »
Hi,

I'm a fairly new lottie holder, and following a 'stock take' of the seeds that I have accumulated over the last few weeks it has become apparent that I have more of some varieties than I could use in a lifetime.

The seeds are for anyone who would like some, please PM me and I will post some to you, however I would also be interested in swapping for anything on my 'wishlist' below  (I only want a few seeds of any variety on the list).  Finally please forgive any spelling errors.

This is what I would like:
Any variety of Pumpkin or Squash  (two or three seeds of any variety would be more than enough)
Sea Kale
Cauliflower - Romano
Okra
Red or Purple Basil

This is what I have:
Leeks - Musselburgh
Leeks - Autumn Giant 3
Broadbeans - Giant Exhibition Longpod
Tomato - Costoluto Fiorentino (Italian type)
Tomato - Red Pear (Pear Shaped Fruit)
Tomato - Gardeners Delight (Cherry)
Tomato - San Marzano 2 (Plum)
Tomato - Golden Sunrise (Yellow Fruit)
Tomato - Tigerella (Orange-Yellow Stripes)
Mixed Salad Leaves (Mixture of 8 or 9 varieties including Salad Bowl, Lollo Rosso, Rocket, Spinach, etc)
Spring Onion - White Lisbon
Cauliflower - All Year Round
Swede - Invitation
Swede - Best of All
Salsify - Sandwich Island
Butternut Squash
Brussels Sprouts - Falstaff - Purple Variety
Cornichon - Fin de Meaux (small pickling cucumbers)
Peas - Onward
Courgette - De Nice a Fruit Rond (Round variety)
Dwarf French Bean - Tendercrop

Please PM me if you are interested.

Good luck to everyone for the growing year ahead.

By 'fancy' basil do you mean unusual? Or is it a variety I haven't heard of?
For myself I am an optimist - it does not seem to be much use being anything else.

Hi Bupster,

I'm not very experienced with all this, so please bear with me.  By 'fancy' basil I meant any kind other than the usual green kind (bush?) - (which is wonderful , but I wanted to try growing another variety as well).

While I'm posting this I'd like to say that I've had a lovely two days, not only swapping seeds with people -  but 'meeting/talking' via the pm system with various members.  What a nice lot you all are.

Kind regards

Ann

Hi,  ipt8,

Thanks for your pm.

I apologise if I have replied twice (or not??) but my internet keeps crashing tonight - so I'm not sure if my messages have been sent or not.

Please pm with your address so that I can forward your seeds.

Kind regards

Ann

Wondered if you're fixed for basil seeds? Can send you some Thai 'Siam Queen' if you want - PM me if you do.

Don't need any of yours for swaps.

Hi Purple Sprouting

Many thanks you seeds, they arrived last night.  I am going to have great fun growing them - alto I see I will have to wait until April for the courgettes and cornichon's ;D I have never planted (or eaten) broad beans before but I popped them into loo rolls last night and they are happily sitting in my front porch.  So I am all ready.
If you can't be a good example -- then you'll just have to be a horrible warning....

Thanks to everyone for your help and kindness in swapping.  I have had a great time over the last week or so with everyday feeling like Christmas with another envelope to open.
I've learned loads from all of the pm's, many thanks for everyone's suggestions.

Regards

Ann
