i've got men in my garden
« on: February 05, 2006, 08:58:52 »
building my shed base.

how excited do i feel right now ??   Stage 1 nearly done.

and the turned earth looks absolutely fabby.  ok it's solid clay and needs a bit of improving but no stones, rocks, roots or other nasties.

;D

my shed is more of a small house as well.  him indoors is a bit on the large side, so i thought if i want him to get in there and do things, i better make sure he don't bang his head, so i got a high eave one.

the budget went out of the window about a couple of hundred quid or so ago, but to heck with it, i'm going to spend the rest of my life in this garden, so the initial investment is worthwhile.

the grass will make way for the veggie beds (and the men are hiding behind the bird table).   ;D

Congrats on the shed!  Especially if it's a nice large one.  Dead jealous - I so want a shed on my new lottie - if only for making a cuppa in!  One day....
http://ihateworms.blogspot.com/  - Why then do I so want an allotment?

the senior partner is in the pink joggies and junior is in the white t-shirt.  they've been at it since about 9.30 this morning and nearly done by the looks of things now.

my original plan for the garden has bitten the dust and now the whole of the free space will be for veggies and other growables.  the lawn has been sacrified but heh ho, why have two when i've got one at the front  ;D

now to get the shed delivered (and try and enlist junior's help to build the thing).

btw just scavenged a double bed wooden base frame from our best mate for the veggie bed edgings.   i was pleased to see that the birdies didn't seem to mind the workmen in their garden and they just carried on as normal.   :D

shock horror though, i've just seen where buildies got their water for the wee bit of cement they needed - the bird bath bucket !!!!!   :o
