Just a quick one to say hello, I am new to allotments in fact I don't really know a spade from a fork ::)

I am sure I will have lots of questions soon

Cheers

I think the fork has the spiky bits but wouldn't swear to it. You are not alone  :)

Welcome to the board. There are people who know what they're talking about - just generally not me  :D
For myself I am an optimist - it does not seem to be much use being anything else.

welcome to the farm digger dan, hope you get as much fun out of the great advice here as I have  ;D. Top tip I wish I'd figured out earlier ... the 'search' on this website can often turn up a weath of info on topics from the threads without having to crawl through the threads looking for your topic (erm, sometimes the threads get a little tangled  ::)). Having said that, people love to answer every sort of question and listen to any opinion, so enjoy posting! Hope you have loads of growing fun this year and that A4a is part of it too ...  8)

Well mine was a bit of a butterfly sanctuary to begin with too.

If you are thinking of digging one bit over and covering another bit up, you may find this of interest.

Welcome aboard Dan.  Looks like you have your work cut out but you have young Will to give you a hand when he is a bit older.  Good luck.
