Definitely 8 inches here and 4 inches for the elephant garlic. No added nutrients yet, and yes, I am bragging !

We have 5 varieties of garlic , onions & shallots in since October, and look to be doing well - see my blog. However, we have been warned about white rot on the plots so wait for disaster  :'(. We planted half in pots to make sure we didn't lose the lot.

Well very soon, I hope to be adding some BF&B, bonfire ash, and in a selected area, coffee grounds, as an experiment.

And I am expecting a bumper harvest !

Seriously impressed! ;D

Mine are going in tomorrow as have just moved plots, will give the ground plenty of Soot as it is also going to accomodate the Leeks, and Onions which I generally dress with Soot and they seem to do well, I think it has lots of potash in it.

:'( :'( :'(
Not a single sprout, not a hint of life. my raised bed which I placed 4 lines is like a grayish desert.
Rommel would love to drive his tanks through it, know what I mean.
the carrot and parsnip bed, lovingly sieved and raked.  prepared with thought, was filled with 3 lines spaced out.
inter cropping to keep the bugs away. Nothing!  I say Nothing!!
Last week I could have swore it was spring, It was that dry I watered them a little.
There is more chance of discovery Life on Mars than in my Garlic rows.
I say,  >:( Don't sit there and read this and laugh,  >:( yes you, stop laughing.
It is  not funny :'(
still me Broadies and cabbages are flying :P
I want my Garlic TO GROW
I LOVE Garlic, but Garlic it seems has falling out of love with me.
they say it wouldn't grow.....ha
