Plocket, they are absolutely beautiful.  I couldn't take my eyes off the Clematis Montana Primrose Star.  You are very talented.

Hi Dan! No I haven't studied art. I got a place at art college and then decided not to go: my family weren't impressed!!! It's just a hobby now really. Are you going to share some paintings with us?

Hi Plocket, can't think of anything to say except to agree with everyone else that your paintings are beautiful - like Twospot, I thought they looked like illustrations from a plant journal.  I especially like the kaffir lily & the clem. primrose star.

Crumbs Dibber, Kaffir Lillies are like weeds in my mum's garden and I've been giving them away like I don't know what. If you want to PM your address to me I'll send you some in the spring.

yeah, like others, my reaction was WOW, what talent.

My mother started painting a few years ago, and unleashed a talent I never knew she had. She works in oils. Water colours, now, that's talent and patience too I imagine. Hard to stop the dribbles!

Well done. Lucky your relatives that have piccies in their homes.

Lovely paintings P ! Really brilliant.

I know where you're coming from about keeping your hand in. I went to art college  but haven't painted anything for years. I kind've feel all stiff and not able to move freely with a brush if you know what I mean.  I didn't paint flowers though. I painted various things but the most enjoyable paintings I did were of life models.

My mum has had MS since I was a wee bairn. She is 71 now, totally lost the use of her right hand side years ago. She has had to learn to use her left hand. She went away to respite care last year and did some watercolours for the first time ever.  She did a rose, an iris and some daffodils. They are so beautiful it brought tears to my eyes. I thought "Right thats it I'm never going to paint again!"  ;D  I bought her a little travel paint set but she hasn't done any more paintings.  :(

Really lovely Plocket! I would love to be able to paint like that. Love watercolours and even enrolled in a painting course last september, but they look like cancelling it now  :'(

Well done to your mum, Heldi, for learning to do something different - a lot of people would just have given up.  My dad had TB when he was in his 20s & spent a couple of years in hospital (prior to which he had been a really active sportsman - must have been heartbreaking having to give everything up) - he learned to do watercolours and also embroidery & apparently got quite good at them - but he also hasn't done any since - I think they would remind him too much of being in hospital.
