Supermarket vinegar bottles
« on: December 08, 2005, 09:14:57 »
Does anyone know if they're re-usable, especially for something that requires the same kind of sealing as jam and the like?? I just made a load of chutney and it seems a shame to just throw the bottles in the recycling.

Thanks y'all :)

If you are talking glass bottles then yes I would imagine they can be reused, but what had you got in mind?

Don't know, really. Nothing too complicated, don't have the space. Just seems a shame to ditch them. Flavoured things, maybe, especially if I can get rid of the vinegar smell. I think it's the lids that will get me there. Any suggestions?

Put mine through the dishwasher (How I love my dishwasher) and then leave them with lids off, the smell seems to dissapear.......re-use mine for chutneys etc.
