Hmmm I just tried editting my earlier message with the word onion in it, and it seemed ok, so perhaps Dan can shed light on it?

Derekthefox :-\

Are you trying to delete the word onion, or what?

I have just been in Tim's shed and written both avatar and onions with no problems so maybe there is a conflict with you settings - might be worth pm'ing Dan with this one.

Am intrigued!!! Know I can't say asses in chat, cos comes out as erm, well lightly rude word!! So as far as I can make out, this setting seems to make innocent words ruder....or am I missing something bout the nature of an onion here.... ???

I have certainly been having simple problems with the site today Wardy, but then I am simple anyway, so that proves nothing ...

Basically I have noticed that it appears to have been running very slowly ... I presumed it was our college server undergoing antivirus clearouts ...
 Perhaps something is afoot ...

Blue latex eh, does that mean we have to start wearing undepants on the outside too ... ?

..., someone gave me some Hysam's at the end of the summer, and I put them in the ground but now find they should have been harvested in August!
They are growing away nicely now, still very small.  Do you think they will survive the winter?

They might just survive, but will probably bolt as soon as the temperature starts to warm up. Onions are biennials, flowering in the second year and will consider having gone through the winter as a prompt to start flowering.

I remember something similar, not rude, but found it incredibly funny at the time. When around 3, my son asked for "electric banisters" - I queried, obviously, and he explained that he wanted the stretchy things that go ping (elastic bands) - that's stuck too...
