Yes, I see no reason to be sentimental about this particular species! Unpalatable as it seems for many: rats (& grey squirrels) are rodents we seriously need to reduce in numbers.

for the rat raps use nutella, they ahve to lick it off which means they have to sit there for a while, bouncing on ti and then it will go off.

i think with poisons they know there going to die and like many animals usually find somewhere sheltered and out of the way to die. so there shouldnt be much chance of anything else eating the poisioned fat

I've seen them die in the open, but admittedly not very often.
