I learnt the basics of married life very early on...simple.

If the woman of the house is happy then the house is happy.... if she's not... DUCK!

I have years of experience at nodding and saying yes in all the right places...and I've survived! Do we get a badge for that sort of thing?

I admit I have sailed close to the wind on occasions and as I am getting older I now have the added advantage of being able to pretend to have fallen asleep. ;)

'The Governor' has the TV controls permanently Lottie...she has her own TV...Much bigger than mine of course.

I am allowed to watch it on occasions ;) if I have been a good boy.

Now the trick is that by lulling the Governor into a false sense of security I can go down to the lottie for hours on end plus all the other little things I get up to ...such as talking to you lovely ladies and gents on A4A ;) ;D

After all the years we have been married we do get on pretty well and I wouldn't swop her....sell her maybe...if the price was right.

She would probably pay to get rid of me though

Awwww, you're quite sweet really.... ::)! Have to say, Don't watch much TV myself now, eversince they stopped Buffy the Vampire Slayer, I'm at a loss....!! But my OH pretty good too now, took years of training, mind you!!! He looks after kids at the lottie, whilst I dig, pull, hurl etc!! But then again, he does get to eat the fruits of my labours....Not that I'll ever get him to eat my homemade tomato soup again, signed a contract promising never to make it again... ??? Or to enter the kitchen unsupervised..... :-\

Some years ago I was travelling home from a job listening to Radio 4 (well someone has to do it)

The programme was 'Does the team think' where a panel of four well known people answer questions from the audience.'

The question came...

"What does the team think about divorce and have they ever considered it"?

The presenter passed the question to an elderly dowager who had been married for around sixty years..

"Have you ever considered divorce Lady so and so"? he said.

It went quiet for a moment, then a thin wavering voice replied.

"Divorce never....murder many times!"

Now THATS marriage. ;) ;D

thats very good Derek , i have a little sign in my garden i picked up from a garden center, its standing in a flower pot and reads husband for sale TV remote included ;D ;D ;D ;D thought it was brilliant , i don't have alook in with TV changers i am sure they are glued to oh fingers

Food for thought....

When I was a youth the ladies always wore dresses.

Over the years they have taken to wearing trousers... does this make them transvestites? ;)

When men take on wearing dresses that is how they are referred!.... unless you happen to be North of the Border of course
