The number of times we have driven through Arundel this summer on our way back n forth to Bracklesham Bay!  I am in East Sussex, just on from Uckfield.

Crikey, to think we could have been sitting on the beach next to each other....and never known it.   Mind you that means I could pretend to be that really muscly fit bloke yuo noticed on the bay   ;D

Love Arundel,  would love to be able to afford a decent house and garden there even more!  :-\

Must admit didn't notice any muscled fit blokes on the beach...........too busy trying to keep the rain out!! ;D  ;D  ;D
I love Arundel too, is the ice cream parlour still there?? In my college days we used to spend many a happy afternoon eating enormous ice creams with sparklers in them in salubrious surroundings.

All I know of Arundel is the castle and it's gorgeous kitchen garden :)....oh, and the traffic in the summer.

I hate that whole getting up the hill from Arundel bit, takes an age sometimes!!  I haven't been to the castle in about 10 years, love going past it though, looks so fairytale!

There are at least 2 lots of allotments in Petworth - one close to the town centre between "high st" and "angel st" which are highly coveted - 10 year list for these I think. The others are on the road out towards midhurst A272 on the left hand side - just after the Youth centre and opposite the cricket lodge gates to Petworth Park.

I'm in Lancing (site just north of the Leisure Centre on A27) - you've all been passing close by on your way to Arundel! Enclosed by Elms (btw Dutch Elm Disease seems to be striking again), South Downs climbing away behind to the north.
