This afternoon's entertainment
« on: August 14, 2005, 17:37:36 »
Weather was rubbish, so busied ourselves with the plums we have picked form the lottie and our neighbours trees (asked - they were fine about us having some!)

Still got half the plums left!

Wow :o, I love plum jam, does it take long to make jam as I too have a huge amount of plums that just rot away.

I posted the recipe on the recipes thread.

Did not take very long actually - prob an hour 1/2 maybe, great way to spend a wet Sunday afternoon!

Manuel     If you have plums why not make them into a crumble.  Easy to make and delicious.  You can freeze plums too or bottle them.  Plum sauce is another one - which goes well with duck I hear

Seems a shame to waste them when there is so much that can be done with em  :)

sorry - the OH would leave me if I started giving his crumble away. Is another Delia recipe, very easy to make!

Will try freezing some Wardy, had not really thought of that.

Oh all this talk of plum crumble has set me off.  I don't have a plum tree yet but I do have plums in my pantry courtesy of a guest which when ripe will be in a crumble  :)
