Figs
« on: August 20, 2005, 21:11:27 »
Have got a fig tree in a pot on my balcony - think it is a Black Turkey. This is its 3rd summer - nearly gave it away in the Spring as I didn't think it was very happy. Today picked 4 ripe figs and we've had them for supper, absolutely wonderful. Won't be giving it away now!

For the last 2 years we have been able to have figs off big trees on adjacent allotments that were not being worked - didn't want them to go to waste. They were the most wonderful things going, bursting & tasting of honey, absolute nectar.
