WELL, I`ve done it again

Hugh_Jones:
Three weeks ago, after the first really decent frost, I dug up the first parsnips.  Beautiful they were, as nicely flavoured as any I`ve ever grown; good long thick roots, no signs of canker markings.  We had them roasted with the beef on Saturday, then on Sunday we had then sliced with the carrots, then midweek we had lamb and parsnip pie. Then the following week we had the same. And last week we had the same again, and life is beginning to taste a bit parsnippy (if you see what I mean).  Well, the size they are we can`t eat more than 4 or 5 a week, and when I counted them this morning there are over 100 of the b*ggers left.  Now I`ll swear that when I had finished thinning them out in June there weren`t more than 50 of them. But it happens every year just the same, and by March, when the bed has to be cleared, we`ll be sick of the sight of them.

Is there a parsnip fairy, or am I just getting old?

Beer_Belly:
Send some over here  ;D  - I was too late getting my plot to plant parsnips  :(

tim:
Oh for some parsnip crisps! Tim

Ragged Robin:

I had two sowings which failed to germinate- whats the secret?

Hot_Potato:
