sweetcorn problem

my sweetcorn has flowered at the top and pollen is dropping but there are no cobs at all just a straight plant what went wrong?thanks in advance

You should find small cobs starting half-way up the stem.

also do they only have one cob per plant?

jewel - some of mine have two cobs, some only one.
