Remainder shops
« on: November 28, 2003, 21:39:34 »
Hi all - thank God for remainder bookshops.

I picked up a copy of Vegetables, by Roger Phillips and Martyn Rix in The Works tonight ------- only £4.99 (from £16.99).  Fascinating - not strong on actual growing, but LOADS of background information and photos.

Never had fellow bus-passengers peering so boldly over my shoulder; obviously my usual reading on the bus home is just too boring.

All best - Gavin

All of that series of Rix and Phillips books are on sale at the moment at £4.99 from  everywhere except Amazon. Picked up Conservatory Plants Part 1 for 75 pence from a Charity shop. Annuals today at £4.99 from The Works.
Good reading even if one does not grow them.
