hi can anyone tell me if you have to pinch out the growing tip on verbenas to make them bushier as i have them in hanging baskets cheers

Hi Mutty,

Plantsfor hanging baskets do usually have their leader pinched out to encourage extra branches.   

The plants that I have kept I always 'dead head' which does make them much bushier, and of course keeps the flowering season going. 

I think it's a question of being brave!!  and if you have the time to wait,  while the plant re-establishes itself. 

It's a bit like keeping sweet peas, one always has to take out the leader to get extra flowering shoots!!
