A few pics from the allotment ;)
« on: July 12, 2005, 10:30:33 »
Here is our site, in Norwich

Looking through the little fence I made out of a couple of old pallets - you can see, just about, the Blackcurrent bush, broad beans, globe artichokes and jerusalem artichokes...

we put in a row of cornflowers, which we think are fantastic!

One of our many squashes...yum

One of the many marigolds too

No need to label this one ;)

...or this one...

Finally, the carrots have started to grow!!

Our blackcurrant harvest

The line of beetroot that survived a big fat pigeon onslaught!

Nasturtiums

and some of the runners

and finally, Flo and I (Ben) on the plot - otherwise known to others on the site as 'The young couple'.

If you want to see a few more pics of the plot, although i am pretty sure you have had enough by now, then go here:

Cheers!

Thanks Roy!

I think our plot is 250m2 - a chain by a rod, apparently.

Seems much bigger now that we have to weed everything  :)!

super pictures. and isn't it so rewarding eating your own produce :)

i would be very interested in some of these piccies as desktop pictures (the blackcurrant one or the marigold, for instance). have you kept the original digiphoto?
i hope my cornflowers turn out as well as yours - but they currently have to fight for light between my parsnips :-\

Svea,

regarding your question, yes I do still have the originals, and would be more than happy to pass them on to you if you want to use them as a desktop image - I would feel quite flattered infact!
I am member of a website called www.flickr.com and all my photo's are stored on it.  I believe, if you go to our little section of the website, you can download the larger images.  Try this link for me and let me know if it works or not.

Cheers,

Ben

Hi guys,

Fantastic pics Ben. The allotment looks great. I'm very jealous of the blackcurrants. Glad the beetroot survived. Hope we get to sample some of the produce soon.
