Carrots, radish, lettuce, spring onions, chinese greens, spinach, beetroot, french beans.  There must be more.

Still time for swede, chicory, endive, kale, radish...

Oh, and bulbous chervil doesn't have to be in until November. That's one to look forward to...

And if you still have space left, green manure.

spring onions too?

I've actually got some space now that the garlic and shallots are coming out! Must get my seeds out again. (trouble is at this rate - I'm going to end up with five beds full of root veg and nowhere to rotate them to next year!

If I were you I'd obviously get some leafy veg's in for now but would be planning ahead to a goog winter harvest, it's not too late to get your leeks, Brussels and spring cabbage in etc....

Can you still sow leeks, sprouts, etc then? I thought it was too late to sow them (but ok to plant them out, if you've sown them already)

It is so warm now Aqui, anything you sow will grow like the clappers!  People plant leek seedlings where they dig their spuds.

Having cleared an area of garlic I thought I would try some late (possibly "second crop") potatoes.

Some were a small batch of seed that I'd overlooked and the others were from "cuttings" sprouts from seed that hadn't been planted but had been rooted in the greenhouse (they only took a week) from a buried sprout to become a 3" high plant.

If the first lot fail it will be Tim's fault as he claims to be able to grow second croppers in the open.  ;)

With your winter veg you can sow directlyuntil even as late as the end of July. All this will mean is that you have a later crop, but this can be a good thing as you can stagger  things such as your Brussels which you really don't want to all come at once ;)

As EJ said, things will grow very quickly at this time of year...

Well I've now got in a row of carrotts, turnips, swede beetroot & lettuce.
I think I'll try leeks, you never know they might grow. Thanx for the advice.
