Our pet
« on: June 10, 2005, 14:57:13 »
WE dont have a dog or cat, we got one of these. My wifes actually. He belonged to her late brother. His names Toby and he's about 55 years old. Not sure what exact breed he is though. A good place to get rid of any dandelions. Its about all he likes to eat, everyone over the allotment think I'm mad going round collecting all the yellow flowers. He's become quite a hit with the grandchildren. They love to hand feed him.

Oh he is lovely.  We have in the past tortoise sat for friends, they are quite intelligent and friendly, more than you imagine.  My children used to love having Joe to stay.  He lived at the back of us and they always longed for him to escape in to our garden.

Isn't that Testudo graeca, the Spur-Thighed Tortoise, which used to be all over the pet shops years ago?

Awww, isn't he lovely. I could do with one of those, I have loads of dandelions that need pulling up.

Sure he could be trained to. No he's fussy, dandelions and thats about it. Will eat little gems again thats it. He does somehow survive when we go on holiday though. Probably waits till we get home.
