Can I cut Vinca right down to the ground? It took a whil to establish but now it's taking over!

It's very invasive - can be a really terrible weed. Probably OK as a ground cover under shrubs if (1) you don't want anything else to grow with it, and (2) you can contain its spread with e.g. mown lawn/path. Next to e.g. herbaceous plants it will try to infiltrate and take over.

You can remove as much of the top growth as you want and it will grow back - if you ever want to get rid of it you need to remove all the rooted growing points which are at about ground level (won't grow back from the actual roots). It's also susceptible to glyphosate.

Thanks. It'sunder a Leylandii so not much else will grow there, but it's encroaching on my pond and plants in pots. Will butcher it at the weekend!
