Perhaps gardeners are not giving enough back handers to the bbc to advertise their sporting event. I've had it with the bbc for a number of years for varied and obvious reasons, and other channels too.

Haven't even had a tv for quite a few years now. :icon_cheers:

Perhaps a lot of gardeners are like me and have no interest at all in Gardener's World. The snooker's only once a year!

Do you folks still have to pay for a TV license over there, I remember it prior to leaving in 77 then it was still there when I went  back to stay  in 2000 and still there when I left again in 2009 so it may have changed but I think the last thing I remember about it was if you hit 80 they let you have it for free . Great treason for longevity.

When God blesses you with a multitude of seeds double  the blessing by sharing your  seeds with other folks.

GW can be very dull and slow but does have little gems of visits to other gardens and specialist growers so I record it and watch at my leisure.   Haven't watched snooker since I was ill with glandular fever in the 80s.

Beechgrove is on BBC2 Scotland on Thursdays but repeated nationwide on BBC2 early on Sunday mornings.  It packs in loads of info, fun, plants, gardens and tips and does trials on seeds/composts/fertilisers/pruning techniques and so on to help viewers get the best form their time and money and plants.   Excellent show.

Yes, I love to learn too, but I found that GW only rarely taught me something I was interested in. Perhaps it's because I don't do much in the way of flowers and grow vegetables in non-conventional ways (no-dig, square foot, organic).

I love beech grove too. I think GW has become too arty farty with its close up camera shots of blades of grass etc. GW needs something to kick it into touch.
