Fish question
« on: November 02, 2015, 20:57:07 »
I have been watching the goldfish in my pond (as you do ) and they seem to be trying to spawn, one has quite a swollen body around it's vent and a couple of the other fish are chasing and nudging it, but surely this is the wrong time of the year.  Any thoughts peeps.

Just one more polytunnel, just one more chicken coop.
Just one more allotment.

The plot holder four plots away from mine is a keen coarse fisherman. He once told me carp spawn in late May and June, with some minor variation caused by temperatures.

Goldfish are members of the carp family, so spawning at this time of year is probably about right.
Not mad, just out to mulch!
