Ants in my peaches!
« on: August 02, 2015, 10:44:18 »
At last my peach tree is dripping with fruit and looking gorgeous, though they remain hard at the moment. While I wait for them to ripen, they are being infested with ants. My solution this year is to pick them while still hard, wash off the ants, and hope the peaches soften and go sweet in the sun. Where the ants have got into each fruit, it starts to rot.....

For next year, has anyone any ideas for preventing the ants climbing up the trunk year and doing the same? Wind the whole trunk in duck tape with its sticky side out is my first vision. Any advice?

Tree barrier glue perhaps?   :sunny:
