Gardeners' Question Time.
« on: February 19, 2015, 10:36:32 »
Guess who's going to be on Gardeners' Question Time  :blob7:????  go on guess.....you can have three goes.

Wellesbourne Allotments Association...it's being recored this coming Monday 23rd Feb at the http://stratfordartshouse.co.uk

It all started back the end of 2014, one of our members got in touch with the program and started the ball rolling. After a lot of questions and much form filling he got the ok.

The whole program contains The WAA,  our village, Warwick Crop Centre, Charlecote park, Compton Verney and others, there's an awful lot going on in the background I can tell you.

There's to be two recordings,  and I got a phone call last night from the chairman that they will be up at the allotments Monday noon and could I be there (as letting secretary) to answer any questions about the number of members,  plot size, etc.

This is my 15mins of fame... :icon_cheers: watch me milk it...

A few years ago they came to Brussels.

The first question Eric Robson asked the audience was how many of us had gone native and actually enjoyed eating chicon/endives.   He was surprised at the very positive response.

A good evening and we got the chance to chat to the panel members afterwards.

I do hope you get your 10 seconds of fame.  They record a lot more than they broadcast so some are very disappointed.

GQT came to us in 2006 and recorded the programme in a nearby church hall.

We met Matthew Biggs (lovely man), Bob Flowerdew and Bunny Guinness and
the compere Eric Robson after the recording.  They were all really happy to stay
and chat to people.

Chris Beardshaw (very lovely man!) visited our allotments and advised a couple
of new plot holders.

Not sure if the photo is large enough for you to read the print, it was in our local
newspaper.

Ye Gods it was cold last Monday.... when Radio 4 turned up at the allotments to start the recording...couldn't wait to get back indoors...

The programe will be broadcast on Radio 4 on 6th March (repeated Sunday 8th March) and 17th April (repeated Sunday 19th April).
