senecio articulatus
« on: December 19, 2014, 09:47:05 »
Found at one of these coffee mornings she goes to. I have never come across it before, but what a funny looking plant. It is starting to shoot up all over the pot and the tiny little flowers  come on long stems which are totally different from the actual plant stem. The flower would be spectacular if it was not so tiny and from reading up, it is just a slice of stem stuck in a pot to get new ones. It had a label calling it a candle plant but green sausage would suit it better. Although it is more glaucous than green in colour.. Like I say, weird, dandylion flowerbuds, succulent stem and it's a daisy. nicked pictures.

Not difficult to look after - mine has spent the last 7 1/2 years in the outlaws conservatory occasionally getting a bit of water thrown at it, and seems to have thrived!

I think they're rather fun. Mind you, I like Stapelias so maybe I'm weird?
