Made for interesting reading that!

Strange how we all like different stuff.

I get my seeds from Kings as well and in my opinion JM you have left off the best Cauli, leeks and pepper to name but a few.

I hope you have plenty of space for your selection IAJ as some of the stuff you have chosen needs loads of space, plus I have noticed you do not have much summer cropping stuff. As I see it much of your stuff will not be ready until Sep/ Oct and some won't be ready until 2016.

Just thought I would mention that considering you a a newbie and was not aware of it!

I daren't post the contents of my seedboxes...though most of my seeds for next year are either going to come from what I've saved,a couple of seed circles or are already in from from the wyevale 50p sale.

IAJ - definitely recommend the potimarron and black furtsu squashes, they are delicious, but do need a couple of months in storage to develop the flavour fully.

Cheers Tee Gee! Yeah - I've got quite a bit of seed left over from this year I can use still (salads, tomatoes, courgettes, spring onions, chards, mangetout peas) and tend to try and share plants with others too ("here you go, have a pumpkin plant! What do you mean it's not your birthday?") I also quite like growing a little bit of a wide variety of stuff, just because it's more fun :P

What were you thinking would take up a lot of space? I'm a bit worried the purple sprouting brocolli will be a big space investment for not much immediate give-back, but I love eating it, and it's a good excuse to get over to the allotment early on in the year.

I had lot's of old packets and half opened, so gave them all to my local scouts group and decided to start afresh this year, that's why my list was so full. :)

Just gotta get the Garlic, onion sets & spuds now.

The pumpkins & squash  Chard and Kale and as you say the PSB

BTW I find Purple Cape a better investment than PSB you get Calbrese sized heads followed by numerous spears plus you can get away with sowing/planting it a bit later than PSB

I got nearly 4kg from my 6 psb plants Dec-Mar. Stubbier shoots than in supermarket versions, but it was lovely. Don't know how that goes for normal yields, but I thought it might help give you an idea of what you can get. 10 plants for me this year...
