I am going to grow white clover as a USGM in my squash bed.

When is the best time to sow it?
I was thinking of sowing it early, letting it establish and then planting my squash plants in the already established clover.

Is this a good or bad idea, if good then how long does it need to get established, and when can I sow it, the packet says April but I have heavy slow to warm soil.

Also if I sow it early, will it go to seed before the squash are harvested?

Now I've written it, sounds like a bad idea, but I would like to know your thoughts.
