And be honest  Grin

I had to buy potatoes today. Our site suffered badly from blight last year so I decided only to grow one bed of earlies this year. Unfortunately the last of the earlies were scoffed last week  Undecided

Everyone had a bumper crop and no blight this year, my own mistake.

Shame about your potatoes. My toms are just dying a death now to.

When i thought about the veg it made me smile to think i hadnt bought any for months Smiley

Its fruit thats my problem if only we had the climate for bananas and oranges then i could skip merrily past that section at asda!

I bought a banana today! And I bought carrots last week. Apart from that we're doing well this year. I hadn't thought about it really - thanks for asking, it's cheered me up!  Smiley

(sorry to hear about your potato misfortune  Sad)

Today I bought an aubergine from Lidl as I want to make a ratatouille and my two plants haven't even produced a flower - let alone a fruit!

Two aubergines to make a Moussaka tomorrow--I bought mine from lidl too. Last year I got nowhere growing aubergines so I have given up on them. Mine produced lovely flowers and no fruit.

Do mushrooms count?... If so then a couple of days ago, if not then a pile of canned sweetcorn back in June when I was sorting out supplies for the festival season....

If mushrooms count then I am guilty too. I love mushrooms and buy them frequently.

Carrots (I don't like them cooked so don't grow them), and big spuds for baking.

If I need mushrooms I will buy, and although I'm growing a few peppers, find they are very thin walled compared to the imported ones (but they must be reduced, or I refuse to buy  Wink).

I still regularly buy beansprouts, babycorn, cucumbers and tomatoes (out of season). As for fruit I buy alot of fruit - bananas, grapes, peaches, apples, pears, mangoes etc.

Mushrooms.  Wish I could grow them.  A garden I worked in today had loads of white mushrooms on her lawn.  Wish I knew if they were edible...there were plenty.

Has anyone tried the mushroom logs - always wanted to give them a go but they seemed more expensive than buying the mushrooms on their own!
