Just wondering

If I let my dog free to catch and shake a mole to death.

Is it illegal?

If you're deliberately hunting a mole with a dog, I imagine so. But they'd have trouble getting a conviction when moles spend so little time above ground! If it just goes off and kills a mole, with no intent on your part, you're presumably not 'hunting' within the meaning of the Act. Otherwise, there would be a prosecution any time anyone's dog killed anything.

Is that something you'd want to do?  My dogs hunt and it's something that can happen and not something I have a great deal of control over, but it's not something I encourage and it's very upsetting when it happens.
