Using old painted wood for borders

I have procured some skirting boards from an old house they are gutting near me. On the backs they have some very old looking paint. Whats the chance that it would be lead paint, and if so would it harm the soil if i buried them in the ground to border of my indivual beds. Will the paint harm the soil anyway?
