out of date yeast & nutrient ?

Hi,

i am planning to make some blackcurrant wine soon and i noticed that the Youngs yeast and nutrient i have are 1 year passed their use by date.

does anyone know if they are still active and good to use or do i need to buy new  to be successful ?

try popping some in some water with sugar dissolved in it. If it bubbles up. it's probably OK
