I just thought I'd share something that has happened to an allotment association near me, as a cautionary tale.

XXX Allotment Association was due for it's Council lease renewal and only had one remaining leaseholder. The leaseholder, it seems, renewed the lease in the name of XXX Allotment Leaseholders Association instead of XXX Allotment Association. He then took charge of the running of the allotments and is even charging the existing association rent on it's shop storage.
Legal action is now pending and may well bankrupt the existing association.
