Now there's a thought. I've got quite a few parsnips still in the ground, probably a bit woody by now, would they still be OK for a drop of wine?

Tony.

Sow it, grow it, eat it.

Tony how many parsnips do you keep and allow to go to seed?  I quite fancy doing that as I would know the seed is fresh.

2 or 3 plants supplies me with loads of seed.(too much) just re-plant a couple of parsnips somewhere on your plot, water them in, and let them flower! they have an umbellifer type flower, and are ripe for harvest late summer.

How did the wine turn out Tony?
I sowed extra seeds after reading your first post and only 2 parsnips grew Sad
