Here is a trough that the OH has put together with a few herbs we bought from the local nursery. She has also given a few bulbs and violas a new home. Lips Sealed
These troughs are courtesy of Lush shop. They were just going to throw them away, so we asked if we could have some for planters. They said we could have as many as we want due to them being recycled for another purpose. Cheesy

Good for you. I always ask for anything I can use which looks like it is going to be recycled.

In fact I seem to have gathered a following of a few who want me to 'get them some'.

Why are people so scared to ask:-

'If you are recycling this, can I take it for my allotment please?

At last a reason not to scowl too much when OH drags me into a Lush store... she thinks it's just the overwhelming scents.... how anyone can work a shift in there without a respirator is beyond me...  Lips Sealed

At least you can leave the shop.
I have to put up with it when the eldest comes home from working all day there. Lips Sealed

I once spotting a "office drinking water" van making its way down a road. I cant believed I followed him and waited for the driver to stop. When he got out I asked him if he had any damaged water containers that I could use as cloches on my allotment! Shocked  He must have thought "strange woman"  Grin

I think I got them cause the eldest works there.
But I do not see any harm in asking.
They only return them to be filled with other strange things to sell.
