I am going to grow my very first sunflowers in 2010 and I'm currently looking through all the seed catalogues.

There are so many!

I'd like some HUGE ones for my allotment, and some standrard ones for my garden.

Any recommendations?

I like the look of those black ones....

Next year I'll be growing Earthwalker, Pastiche, Sungold (tall) and Vanilla Ice.

One of my plot neighbour had some super ones quite small with lots of dark flowers.  Lovely.

Love the pictures Flighty.

I had some Velvet Queen from Realseeds.co.uk, they were lovely, late flowering, red-gold colour with loads of flowers, medium size.

the best ones we have grown were last year from a 19p pack from netto, lovely dark colours, plus a couple of the ones out of the bird seed, big yellow ones, this year, we used seed from them and had a lovely mix  Grin
