I agree with Flighty. A tip! Once you have selected your exhibits ( including spares) lay them flat on a board and wrap them (board & beans) in a damp tea cloth or similar. Leave them like this until you are ready to display them on the show bench, i.e. wait to the last minute and they should look 'fresh and just picked' rather than as can happen 'leathery'!! Another thing; if there is a slight twist on any of them carefully put another board on top of the teacloth wrapped beans and place a building brick on top of them. With a bit of luck by the time you get them to the showbench the twist will have gone! It might also pay you to check the freshness of your beans by breaking a few in half ( not the potential exhibits) If they break cleanly they are as you want them if they show any sign of stringiness then they are too old!!
