Doing what comes naturally, down in West Sussex...

We went up to water early this morning and released a female blackbird that had got under netting protecting cabbages, that was easy just lifted it and she flew off.

There was also a little sparrow/dunnock (not sure which) that had got caught up in some wider netting, it took a few snips with the scissors to free it.

Just a nice ask for those amongst us with netting to have check each day if possible (I'm sure you all do) as it's a horrible way for birds to die, especially in this hot weather.

I have said for years now-don`t use wide mesh netting-tiny mesh or fleece yes but nothing so wide a bird could get tangled

Couldn't agree more Cleo. Debris netting is good.

These were on a couple of plots near mine and hubby spotted them as he was filling up the watering cans.
