Gosh, for a small site you do yourselves proud.  We have over 200 plots, 400 members and our plant sale is puny in comparison.

You've got a lovely lot of plants there, hope the sale goes well.

Is it something you do every year?  We will be having ours on May 16th, combined with a 'Cream Tea'   Smiley which one of our newcomers has 'offered' to organise.  We are hoping that visitors will buy the plants then sit around eating fresh cream cakes and having a cuppa! It's in aid of Macmillan Cancer Care so I hope we do well.

this is the third year we've done it, just found out the photographer from the local free paper is coming tomorrow to do a feature  Shocked
we don't do cakes, last year we had over 100 poeple through the gates on the first day, it's hard enough getting enough people to help serve people  Grin
hope yours goes well, we've over 200 of orders already but we've spent 600 so a bit of a way to go yet  Smiley

It's our third year too.
Last year we made £400 profit.  All our plants are donated - it sounds from what you say that yours are bought in?
We had ours in the free paper last year, it is one of the best ways to advertise for us.  Two people who deliver papers are also plotholders and they are going to put one of our leaflets through letterboxes at the same time.
Just hope it doesn't rain.....

we've bought in 400.00 worth of plants, all the rest are raised from seed, cuttings etc..last year we made 1300.00 profit, we were making a raised bed area for our broadmead friends, that's done but we need a new communal greenhouse as the one we have isn't safe for them to go in and we can't get wheelchairs in there, they have a space in the communal polytunnel though, they can plant in it after the sale, it's covered in table tops and plants at the moment , theirs is under the middle  Grin

It sounds very well organised.  How much do you sell the hanging baskets for (if you don't mind me asking)? Do you get advance orders for them?

the green plastic ones go for 10.00, up to 16.00 for the maize leaf and cone ones, we try to give the community a good deal, we are surrounded by elderly and disabled homes so they buy lots ..
anyone getting their basket re-filled get 2.00 off the price of the size basket we are selling, if that makes sense  Smiley
that includes feed for the season and water retaining stuff in them  Smiley
we have 12 baskets and 7 containers already  Grin

Most sites do have a rule saying no selling, though it's effectively unenforceable. There are ways round it for associations though. It's too early yet to say how it'll work out, but we've set up an arrangement with a local greengrocer. Donated surplus produce is to be sold to him to raise money for site funds.
