Just as a matter of accuracy. Spiders are not insects. Insects by definition have three part bodies for one thing! So in the recent comp, pictures of spiders whould really be disqualified!

I had money on some-one else (FL) beating you to that one, Eric. .. Wink

However, the comp intro line does state...'Vote for the pic which best describes the title'.
If people vote for a 'wrong-un' then there's the winner, right or wrong-un.

Cheers, Ken.

Yes, but would you allow a Bat in a bird competition?

I don't censor any part of it. If some-one want to a put a cherry cake in an 'apple pie contest' then the people who join in and vote will decide if it's right or wrong. I'm sure some votes are cast just for the fun of it and that's fine by me.
Well done to those who support any part of the Photo Gallery, including yourself who's summer photo's are some of the best we see on here.
Cheers, Ken.

At least spiders are closely related to insects, while bats aren't related to birds. Maybe it should have been an arthropod competition.

I for one am glad Ken would let a cherry cake go into an apple pie comp, does anyone really care that much it's the photo that one finds good that matters.

Ken does good work and this format suits lots of people, obviously.

I've never pretended I was one of them, tho. Just my preference.

Back to the spiders bizz that P. said...I'd not seen the pics but hey! When I saw his title I thought "I KNEW THAT!!" Notta lot I thought I remembered from school & I was pleased I did. Cool

Well a big hug for you Sinbad. I must admit to posting the spider photo (ignorant person that I am Grin) Thank you for your vote. This was our resident house spider who we named Henry, now unfortunately departed.  Sorry for breaking the rules, but as others have said, the photo comp is just a bit of fun and surely it does not matter if the rules are bent occasionally Wink
