Right I received the plant today.  IMHO it's not Parsley, Par-cel, Celery leaf, Pelargonium or Coriander.  The daughter thought it smelt a bit like pine, whereas to me the closest I could get to a recognisable aroma was Chrysanthemum, so Emaggie might be onto something?  The taste is bitter and unpleasant so I doubt it's edible.  I'm really sorry but I can't identify it.

To make up for my complete uselessness I can tell others that the leaves are opposite and tripinnate.  And I've taken the following pics to see if anyone else can help.

You should have asked me! Spend my life pulling the awful stuff up. How come we never let it flower and set seed yet it grows all over the place?

;) i grow it as a perennial shrub that i cut back every autumn to enjoy its daisy like flowers. its a herb and can be eaten, but some people can react to it, it can be used as a tea to relieve fevers hence it name. here is a pic of it in my garden i have three clumps of it you might be able to spot all of them.

Either it's old seed (I don't know how long it lasts in the ground) or the seed is coming in from elsewhere. I planted it in my first year on the plot, and now it's all over the place, and I'm noticing plants coming up round the site.

It's quite a pleasant flower, in moderation.

It is traditionally used for migraine; if I remember right you have to keep taking it daily over a long period.

my father in law used to make tea with it for migraines
