I've tried to post pics, but when I get them under 300kb, they are too small. Other people get nice big pics. What am I doing wrong Huh

I have managed to get a pic slightly bigger into my gallery, but dont know how to get that one to appear in a post.

Anyone got any advice?

Frustratedly

When you have uploaded a pic to your pc. Have a look at the DIMENTIONS.  Anything under or around 600 (height or width)pixels is fine for internet.

Way to do.  Open image in an image editing program.  Resize the height or width to 600 depending which one is the greater.  You must maintain aspect ratio.  Then export as a jpeg.  for example an image is say:  1600 pixels width x 1200 pixels height.  In the editing prog., you'd select width to 600.  Maintain the aspect ratio.

Sorry I waffle.  Not very good at explaining.

Thanks Julia. That seems to have done the trick!

Hopefully, I'll get round to posting more pics now Grin

Another question...How are some people posting just one decent pic instead of the thumbnails I get? I'd rather just have the pic on my post ready to view.

If a pic is the standard shape, then 640x480 pixels makes a good size, and if you've been using computers for a while, it's unforgettable!

I have been using the direct link option in photobucket.  Think this may be why I'm not getting a thumbnail.

Thumbnails are useful for people with slow or no broadband.  As the bigger pics take the page longer to open fully.

Anyway, glad I was able to help and you could understand me!
