That's one gorgeous orchid Mike!
Thanks grawrc, I am rather pleased with it we bought it just over a year ago in flower from a garden centre, eventually the flowers died and it sat in the bath room for several months before blooming again. It has had these blooms for ages, a really good value for money plant.

- and the donkey's beautiful, too! Welcome to A4A, Mike. Thanks Thats a lovely little fella called Marcelle that we came across in the Loire valley, he was very patient while I messed about doing a self take with the camera, took me a few goes before I got the shot I wanted. Think he really enjoyed the attention

Just testing. Newbie checking out the site etc. What a fabulous photo! Please tell us a bit about your camera... Thanks Betty My camera is a Nikon D300 (DSLR) 12mgpx, for this image I had a 17-35mm F2.8 zoom lens attached. The Orchid was photographed in front of our living room window , I used flash to counter the effect of back lighting .

Yes I have plenty of photos I'll start some fresh topics though, I seem to have inadvertently highjacked this thread I've also started my personal galleries, hopefully it won't be too long before I get my allotment and will be able to document its progress as well.
