Hi manicscoucers

Not far from you! you could perhaps enlighten me on the veggies that grow really well near us?

Is this the link where I introduce myself, I am still getting used to the site.

Thanks
Michelle

Welcome greenqueen I'm miles away in London, but when my mate lived in Bolton we was up there 2 or 3 times a year, I think he was in the chorley area, I think.     :-\       ;D ;D ;D

What a lovely welcome.  I have looked at several different allotment websites and I love this one.
Really down to earth and lovely people.
Its important to have a good laugh as well.
I look forward to to asking lots of questions.
Yes Cornykev, Chorley isnt too far from me.  ;)

Wish me luck I have a delivery of 12 ton of top soil coming in the morning!!!!!

Thanks again

Welcome to A4A, Michelle!
If you're not around for a while I guess you'll be having a lie down after dealing with all that soil- hope it's being delivered right where you want it! :o

And if you want some manure to go with it, this might be useful:

But read the threads on here about manure contamination first!

Hi Greenqueen.
I have plots in Aspull and Leigh, you should be able to get plenty of local manure try the farms on Astley Moss or Bag lane Atherton

Hi all.
I dont have an allotment but what i do have is plenty of manure in Liverpool (just off East Lancs Road), fresh or well rotted. I only use straw however it is for collection only.
Feel free to give me an email and i will get back to you :)

I have a plot in Denton, Manchester. Had it for the last 4 years now and spend all my weekends on the plot except for winters.
